Zion Canyon

Zion Canyon is one of my favorites. This place is great. It's so much better than the Grand Canyon because you can really explore it on foot.

The first place we stopped and hiked was Weeping Rock. There is a spring coming right out of the rocks. You are in high desert surrounded by sagebrush and all of a sudden there is greenery everywhere. There was a hanging garden in the most unexpected place.

Our next hike was at the Temple of Sinawava. This was a 2 mile round trip hike that took  you up the Virgin River to where the canyon was just beginning. You can hike up the river until you can touch both sides of the canyon. We didn't go that far but even the short hike we did was great. We were surrounded on both sides by sheer walls and at the end the river becomes the trail! Fun playing in ice cold water in the summer desert.

I don't have a lot of great pictures right now but hope to add more once I can get to them.
